Education

Access to education is a key component of our mission. Gender mainstreaming in education drives our scholarship programmes, literacy initiatives and vocational training for women and girls across Africa.

About this Programme

Access to quality education is the cornerstone of WAN's mission. We believe that educating a girl transforms a family, a community and a nation. Our education pillar drives gender mainstreaming through comprehensive scholarship programmes, community-based literacy initiatives and practical vocational training that equips women and girls with marketable skills. We work with schools, universities and community partners across Africa to dismantle the structural barriers — poverty, early marriage, geographic isolation and cultural norms — that keep African women from reaching their full academic and professional potential. Through targeted interventions, we ensure that no girl is left behind and every woman has the knowledge and confidence to lead.
