Policy Advocacy

Engaging governments, regional bodies and international institutions to champion gender-responsive laws, budgets and policies that create an enabling environment for women across Africa.

About this Programme

WAN's Policy Advocacy pillar drives systemic change by engaging with governments, regional economic communities, the African Union and international institutions to champion gender-responsive policies, laws and budgets. We advocate for the inclusion of women's perspectives in trade policy, education reform, healthcare financing and economic development planning. Our advocacy is grounded in research, informed by the lived experiences of African women and aligned with continental frameworks including the AfCFTA Protocol on Women in Trade.
